You can still buy your tickets at the door tomorrow, but you must pay in cash.

Bad news, guys.

We are so very disappointed to have to tell you that Gred and Forge will not be able to play Carousing With Cupid. Due to last-minute travel issues (that were nobody’s fault, and yet could not be resolved) Jarrod won’t be able to make it.
We’re just as bummed about this as you are, believe me. But we’ve still got six awesome bands for you: Into The Pensieve, Oliver Boyd & The Remembralls, Justin Finch-Fletchley & The Sugar Quills, The Whomping Willows, The Remus Lupins, and Ministry of Magic.

Hey, wizards! We are just one week away from Carousing With Cupid!

Tickets are still on sale here on the website, and you can also get them at the door. If you plan to buy at the door, however, do us a solid and email us to let us know, owlhpa@gmail.com.

That way we can plan to have plenty of homemade cupcakes and soda for everyone.

We have a special opening guest, local area wizard rockers Into The Pensieve. They will go on right as we open the doors at 6:30pm. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/intothepensieve.

Portion of CWC profits will go to Haiti

The OWL board members feel that we cannot ignore the plight of those affected by the disaster in Haiti. Our ball being timed as it is, we feel a moral obligation to try to help. Therefore, we’ll be donating a portion of our profits from Carousing With Cupid to Partners in Health for relief work in Haiti.

We will still be donating to the HPA and STAND, because we feel those are worthy organizations and because people have bought tickets expecting their money to go there. But we will also be donating to Partners in Health.

Partners in Health has been providing health care to Haiti’s poor for 25 years, so we feel they are uniquely qualified to judge how best to use our money there. You can learn more about the organization here: http://www.standwithhaiti.org/haiti

Last year, this event raised $2000 for charity. Help us do it again–and even raise that amount! Please join us on February 13 as we wrock out for several good causes.

At last year’s ball, our silent auction, the Muffliato Auction, raised nearly $500 for the HPA. We’re going to have even better stuff for you to bid on this year. Here’s a taste:

From Christian Caldeira, of Oliver Boyd & The Remembralls:

“As for my donation to the silent auction, I’m going to donate a song. Whoever wins will get a custom written and personalized song by me. They can tell me what to write about, it can be HP related, but doesn’t have to be. It could be about them, a “personalized theme song” maybe? They can suggest a style of music they’d like it to be done in (within moderation. rock, metal, pop, folk, soul, R&B, funk). The more information they give me, the most personal it is for them. The song will be mailed to them on a professionally manufactured CD (complete with cover art and all that jazz) and will include the full version, as well as an instrumental version (for karaoke fun times!).”

From Adam Dubberly, of the Mudbloods:

“I still have the screen that I used to make the “RIP” shirts. Pretty soon I’m going to decorate it with Mudbloods lyrics and give it to the OKC wizards to auction off for charity.”

We will have other merchandise from most, if not all, the bands who are performing; a signed copy of Melissa Anelli’s book, Harry, A History; original artwork from various HP fan artists; cool t-shirts from the HPA, Wrockstock, and more, including a one-of-a-kind Carousing With Cupid t-shirt signed by all the bands; Hogwarts-themed gift baskets (like the house-themed gift baskets we had last year, but so much better!); and tons more!
